About me

I am a graduated mechanical engineer/technologist with a technician's soul and Czech language skills, with more than ten years of engineering experience and knowledge. However, progression in life has shown that languages are simply closer to me, and not the only one reason I left the industry field. In the end, it is only this work that really fulfills me and above all I enjoy. I have been studying English continuously for more than 30 years, Czech for the same time, and I have been a full-time translator for eight years now. As a former mechanical engineer with a constant interest in new technologies, I am "up to date", I know the terminology from my former practice, I know how the technologies work, I could touch most of them in practice and be in contact with them in real operation. Thus, I understand technically what I am translating. Furthermore, I am constantly improving my skills by attending various translation courses.

I have my own licenses for SDL Trados, Transit NXT, I am proficient in most of the common CAT programs such as Translation Worspace, memoQ, Memsource, XTM etc. I can handle virtually all source text formats, including text in images. I always try to tailor the resulting text for the most meaningful understanding for the target audience. I strictly adhere to deadlines and what I say/write is 100% valid.

Below is a rough list of what I have to offer.

• Translations of disassembly/assembly procedures for individual automotive components (Ford, Renault, Scania, Iveco, ...) such as gearboxes, engines, etc.
• Photovoltaics and related components.
• Electromobility – procedures for repairing electric vehicles, manuals for their operation and electromobility in general.
• Translation of general technical materials – partly also promotional and marketing materials.
  
• Revision, proofreading and typography of texts.
• Localization of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ...), partly IT field.

Everything else is up to individual agreement/demand.
